• The class will focus on my limited color palette and alla prima acrylic technique. Students will learn to draw and paint intuitively with a quick lesson in accurate rendering and color theory.

• We will all paint our own Santa painting from different photos encouraging variety and individual creativity. We will not be copying my previous Santa painting so you will each leave with unique paintings.

• Santa Marcus (THE Santa above) will be present prior to the workshop to take photos to use for your reference images. I can also provide images if you can’t arrive early. We’d love to get a group photo with Santa before he leaves!

Santa Painting Workshop
Ages: Ages 16+ (younger artists by request)

Ability Level: Intermediate to Advanced (recommended to have taken prior workshops from Amy to understand style) though Beginners are welcome
Materials Needed: All supplies are included for in-person events
Subject: Santa Portrait (all painting from a different but similar reference image)
Class Structure: Demonstrations of each step of the Santa portrait, hair, and red clothing including structural drawing, color theory focusing on color temperature, and paint application techniques, opportunities for questions, and individual feedback provided for all students.
